Connect Stripe to accept rent

For an eligible account, a landlord connects Stripe under Settings → Accept rent payments and completes the provider's hosted onboarding. Available methods, settlement timing, provider charges, and any Aptoria payment charge are shown during setup; completing a form alone does not guarantee payment availability.
It helps to have a few things ready before you start, since the Stripe form is the most common place a new landlord stalls.
1
A government-issued ID (driver license or passport).
2
Your bank routing and account number.
3
Your SSN or EIN — sole-proprietor landlords use an SSN; an LLC or corporation uses an EIN.
4
A US business address (your home address is fine for sole proprietors).

Verification gates money movement

The agent cannot collect, refund, or move any money until Stripe onboarding is complete and your account is fully verified. Until then the rent ledger is read-only. The connected view shows three flags — charges enabled, payouts enabled, and details submitted — so you can see exactly where verification stands and continue onboarding if Stripe needs more.

How payouts settle

Once your account is verified, rent that tenants pay settles to the bank account on your Stripe account. Payout timing follows Stripe's standard schedule for your account rather than a fixed number set by Aptoria, so the exact timing is what Stripe shows for your account.

The tenant side (Plaid)

Where bank-linking is enabled, a tenant can use Plaid to connect and verify a bank account during payment setup. Plaid does not itself pull rent in this workflow; the eligible Stripe-connected payment flow processes the authorized payment. Autopay also requires tenant authorization and an enabled account workflow.
